While out and about in town yesterday, taking care of a few errands, I watched the Mountaindale Fire Company react swiftly and professionally to an incident over by Crescent Drive just off Post Hill Road. They were very impressive in their reaction time to the incident. Will Hutchinson was driving the first truck and Charlie Weiner was driving the second. Woodridge came in with two trucks for mutual aid. The Mountaindale First Aid Squad, right on their heels, had the ambulance on the scene just as efficiently. Both companies were very sharp and crisp with their response to this incident as they always are. Wanting to leave them to their business, and not wanting to get in the way of their duty to our small hamlet, I stayed back. I don't know what the situation was that required their response, but it was impressive to see, and it feels good to know we have such dedicated and well trained citizens volunteering their time to keep us and our homes safe. They are there so quickly when and if we need their aid here in our small hamlet of Mountaindale.
We should all keep this in mind, remember their selfless dedication the next time they are holding a fund raising event, the next time they are looking for volunteers from among our ranks. The men and women of the Mountaindale Volunteer Fire Department desire both our respect, and unwavering support.
